At LGT Logistics in Horsens, Denmark, we have just added nine new Scania trucks to our fleet – and unique ones at that. They came with the most efficient technology in the market for reduction of CO2 emissions.
The new vehicles are part of what is known as the ’Ecolution’ concept from Scania which aims to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The new trucks are expected to drive around 125,000 km a year, and thanks to monthly reports LGT will soon get the full picture of fuel consumption, environmental impact etc. of these vehicles. As an added bonus the Ecolution concept comprises a 2-year training programme for all drivers. As another important aspect for LGT, the company now helps to reduce the negative environmental impact of road haulage.
Sustainable transport solutions in high demand
- Our environmental policy is clear, and actually more and more of our clients request a green approach when choosing a transport operator. We would like to be able to compete on all parameters, explains LGT’s CEO, John Riis.
- Our drivers know that they have more mileage in the tank now. They are more aware of the environment and driver safer when out on the roads, says Traffic Manager, Preben Ladekjær.
This is the last newsletter from LGT in 2016. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients, business partners and business relations Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
